Jacksonville Axemen Rugby League

Game Preview: Round 4

The Dr. Clayman Plastic Surgery Center Jacksonville Axemen return to Hodges Stadium this Saturday for what is anticipated to be their toughest game of the season against the Central Florida Warriors. Both teams go into Round 4 undefeated, and neither team is willing to go down without a fight. The Central Florida Warriors, who are coached by former Axemen Gaz Walker, also include 6 other former Axemen players who are now able to play rugby league for their home town. With these players on the opposition, there is no doubt this could be one of the most exciting match-ups the Axemen fans have seen in Jacksonville.

Axemen Coach Mat Keeley is well aware of what to expect against the Warriors. “This weekend is our biggest test, it’s a battle for first, we are back at Hodges Stadium and Central Florida have made it well known they are the team to beat this year. I couldn’t be happier with the squad we have and the vibe around the club is some of the best I have experienced. I have no doubt the Warriors will come out firing this weekend but each man knows his job and if they do that that then we are a strong chance of coming away with the win”.

Jacksonville Axemen Co-Owner and General Manager Drew Slover is also expecting the first home game of the year to be a huge event. “We are looking forward to being back at Hodges Stadium and the excitement from our fans has been building over the past few months. We can’t wait to have our CHOP ZONE back in the stands as well as welcome new rugby league fans to the game and introduce them to this amazing sport.”

As always, along with one of the most exciting games of the season on the field, the event will also have full concessions, $2 Bud Lights, raffle and half time entertainment featuring the beautiful Axemaiden cheerleaders. Gates open at 4pm for fans to enjoy the reserve grade game at 4:15pm, following by the Axemen vs Warriors at 5pm.
