Rutcho in action for Canberra Raiders
Sean "Rutcho" Rutgerson has forgotten more about Rugby League than most will ever know. He has over 10 years as a professional player both in the Australian National Rugby League (NRL) with the North Sydney Bears and the Canberra Raiders, and also three seasons with the Salford City Reds in the UK Superleague. He was also a member of the South African National team during their campaign at the 2000 Rugby League World Cup (He qualified due to his mothers heritage)

During his time at Salford he also helped with coaching duties for Academy side and was one of the leaders on the team and a fan favorite. He was also fortunate to visit Jacksonville three times for the teams pre-season training camp while at the Reds and has loved the North Florida City ever since.
He brings with him an impressive playing and coaching resume as well as the following certifications
- Level 1 Sports Coach (Australian Education Institute)
- Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach (Australian Rugby League Development)
- Cert III Gym Instructor (Australian Strength & Conditioning Association)
- Diploma in IV Personal Training (Australian Institute of Fitness)
- Master Trainer (Australian Institute of Fitness)
He joins two other Australian players from Sydney that are returning from last season. Brent "Shorto" Shorten and Simon "Vince" Moate also bring years of Rugby League experience to the Axemen squad and will play key roles in the teams success during the year.
