Australia Day Fever to Hit Jacksonville

The Walkabout 2 Café that is located on Beach Blvd (near the crn of San Pablo) will hold their second annual Australia Day party on Friday the 25th of January. Raylene Martinez, who is originally from Perth in Western Australia said, "It might be Friday the 25th here in Jacksonville, but it will already be Jan 26th in Australia and that means we are keeping the party as about Australian as you can."

The Café held their first Australia Day event last January and it was a huge success with over 350 people showing up to enjoy the company of so many ex-patriots from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and many other countries. Raylene commented that "They drank all the Tooheys and then had a pretty good go at finishing off the domestic beers too."

With the Australia Day Challenge international Rugby League game being played the next day, there is a good chance that many of the fans that have traveled to Jacksonville will be looking to party while the players from both teams get a good night sleep in readiness for the task that awaits them the next day. The Aussies among those fans will most likely end up "going Walkabout" and probably end up IN "The Walkabout".

With Fionn MacCools Irish Pub offering 2 free draft beers with meals to ticket holders and the Walkabout Café Party, Jacksonville is showing there is plenty of culture to be found without having to look to far, providing you want to enjoy a beer with your culture.
