Fans are invited to attend and in doing so will be supporting the Museum
Since the Rabbitohs will have been in Jacksonville for less than 24 hours when the party starts, this will be a great way to introduce team members to the very best that Jacksonville has to offer.
The Souths team is very keen to attend this high-profile event and hopes to inject some international culture and flavor to the event, a benefit for the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville.
Jacksonville Magazine just ran a fantastic article in their January issue on Russell Crowe that focused on the team and the Australia Day Challenge event that was to bring the team to Jacksonville. You can visit the magazine’s website at www.jacksonvillemag.com.
Spinner Howland, Australia Day Challenge organizer and co-owner of the local Jacksonville Axemen Rugby League team, said, “This is one of the premier parties each year in Jacksonville. Being invited to bring the South Sydney team to it is probably the best way you could ever welcome them to this city. This party truly is a “Who’s Who” of Jacksonville and to have the opportunity to allow them to celebrate 100 years of Australian Sport as a part of it is a once-in-a-lifetime chance that just happened to work out perfectly.”
One of the best parts of this event is that the food and beverages are provided mostly from the vendors that were honored in the magazine’s December "Best of" issue. These are truly some of the best in each category that Jacksonville has to offer.
Anyone wishing to join the team or just mingle with the best Jacksonville has to offer is encouraged to attend this event. But act fast, because the event usually sells out. For tickets, we encourage people to visit www.mocajacksonville.org or call (904) 366-6911. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door and $100 for 5. All proceeds go to the museum.
The museum is at the heart of downtown Jacksonville, 333 North Laura Street. There will be food, cocktails and entertainment.
