The AMERICAN NATIONAL RUGBY LEAGUE is excited to announce that Australian Referee Chris Sutton will control the AMNRL Grand Final XIII in Conshohocken, PA on Saturday, August 28.
AMNRL Referees Director Rob Irwin, recently traveled to Australia to meet with executives from the Australian Rugby League, National Rugby League, and Rugby League International Federation to establish systems and programs to foster the growth and development of match officials in the USA.
As part of these meetings he met with Colin Love (ARL & RLIF Chairman) & Tas Baiteri (Development Manager of the RLIF) to develop systems to support AMNRL match official development.
From this meeting a number of immediate strategies are in place:-
- Training and Development support/courses with latest resources for referees from Australia
- Exchange of referees - NRL Referee Chris Sutton to referee AMNRL Grand Final XIII
- AMNRL referee to train in Sydney next February/March.

- Friday August 27th with Rob Irwin and Chris Sutton in Philadelphia
- March 2011 in New York and Philadelphia to be presented by ARL and AMNRL
RLIF Development Manager, Tas Baiteri will be a guest of the AMNRL at the Grand Final in Philadelphia and meet with AMNRL President, David Niu to review the current plans for rugby league in the USA and discuss plans for the USA Tomahawks qualification process for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup in England.
