Axemen Push for Home Playoff Game with Three Games Left

With the USARL season more than halfway over teams are striving to secure playoff spots, and the Firehouse Subs Jacksonville Axemen are no exception. The top 4 teams at the end of the… regular season will make the playoffs; the top two teams secure home field advantage. After a huge win at home 2 weeks ago the Axemen are tied for wins with the Philadelphia Fight, but sit second behind them in the standings due to a mere 2 points in the game point differential. The Axemen have three games left in the regular season play: home against the DC Slayers on July 13, and away against Rhode Island and Boston the following weeks. All three of these teams have the potential to take over at second place so it is imperative that the Axemen continue to win through the final rounds. Jacksonville is also very close to gaining the top position, so every win and point scored is crucial for the standings. “Obviously a home playoff game is very important to us,” says Drew Slover, General Manager of the Axemen. “Every game we play at home is an opportunity to showcase Jacksonville’s toughest sport. We owe it to our fans to give them a playoff game for the 2013 season.” Cheer on the Axemen this Saturday July 13, as they continue the charge for back to back USARL Championships. Game time is 5pm at UNF Soccer Fields against the Washington DC Slayers.
