The Jacksonville Axemen complete their allowed import players for the 2019 season with 2nd row/lock forward Jye Montgomery. Originally from Central Coast, NSW, Austrailia, Montgomery has played competitive rugby league from a young age.
Highlights of his career include competing with 13s and u14s Central Coast representative sides (captained the 14s to the NSW championship) and U 18s central coast SG-ball side. His most recent team is the Wyong Roos, where he captained the 2012 U18s side to the hunter premiership, and received best and fairest. He earned Players Player award for the 2013 Wyong Roos 1st grade side and two 1st grade premierships in 2014 and 2016.
“I’m looking most forward to being a part of a new team with a new culture and learning from a new coaching staff,” says Montgomery. “I hope I can pass some of my knowledge on to some of the boys that haven’t been around the game as long. My goals are to just to play consistent football, hold a starting spot all year, and as a team finish at the top of our pool.”
