The Firehouse Subs Jacksonville Axemen Win The 2012 USARL National Championship

The Firehouse Subs Jacksonville Axemen won the 2012 United States of America Rugby League (USARL) National Championship in Cambridge, MA.   The Axemen defeated the Boston 13s by a score of 22 to 28 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Steinbrenner Stadium.  This is the second win over the Boston 13s this season.  The first was on June 24th.

This is the 2nd National Championship win in the 7 season history of the Axemen.  They have made the playoffs the every year since 2009 playing for the national title in 2009, 2010, & 2012.  The first Championship came in 2010 with a defeat of the New Haven Warrior in Philadelphia, PA.

The Firehouse Subs Jacksonville Axemen have made history by being the first team of any kind to win two national titles for the city of Jacksonville. Additionally, they became the first team in city history to win a national championship with the 2010 championship win.
