Game Preview: Round 7
The Dr. Clayman Plastic Surgery Center Jacksonville Axemen play the final game of the regular season in Deland against the Central Florida Warriors. Both teams are coming off rough games in round 6, and the Warriors are looking for retribution following the loss to the Axemen in Jacksonville. After a close match last weekend, the Axemen have regrouped and are preparing for the Warriors. “It’s a big game for the Warriors as a win secures a home playoff,” says Coach Mat Keeley. “They have a big pack so we can’t afford to come out like we did against Tampa. We had a good chat at practice on Tuesday and I expect our senior players to step up this weekend and lead from the front. We have the opportunity to go undefeated through the regular season and I’m hoping we can carry that momentum into the playoffs.”
With Deland approximately 1.5 hours from Jacksonville it is the closest away game in history for the Axemen and the team is hoping for the CHOP ZONE to be in full effect on the road. All CHOP ZONE members get in free, walk up tickets only $5, kids 15 and under get in free. Full concessions, wine and beer will be available at Deland’s Spec Martin Municipal Stadium 260 E Euclid Ave Deland, FL 32724. Game time is 5pm.
