As expected the first home game of the season was a tough encounter vs Oneida FC which saw some big hits and bone rattling runs by the Axeman players. However the most capped Axeman of all Craig Howitt was awarded the MVP of the day.

Howitt is currently in his 9th season for the Axeman and has become one of the most feared prop forwards in the competition over the years. Weighing in at 285 pounds Howitt continually took the ball forward taking 3 defenders at all times to pull him down and was rewarded with a try late in the game.
