In addition to the live performance, Joy will have a booth set up at both events to promote her recordings and interact with fans. The Axemen seemed just a little excited at the news, “Have you seen the video of her singing before the Celtics game”, said Spinner Howland. “She is a Jacksonville artist who has performed for the NBA, and now she is going to sing the National Anthem for the Axemen at our events. I’d say it’s a pretty big deal to have someone of her caliber and talent involved.”

Joy Dennis is a poet, singer/songwriter, who paved her way onto the music scene through open mic venues and self-produced concert events in the heart of Jacksonville, FL. In 2009, Joy began sharing the stage with artists such as Keith Sweat, Jazmine Sullivan, Raheem DeVaughn and Lyfe Jennings in an event she helped co-produce entitled, The Melodic Inferno.

In 2010, Joy finally turned her very private poetry into her debut R&B/ Soul/ Jazz album, “Music Is”, which, was release in May of that year. The first single from that album was “He Awaits”, followed by the Dinah Washington remake, “Electric Chair”. The following year, Joy went on to write and produce two full length music videos for both of her singles, “He Awaits” and “Electric Chair” (Available on Youtube.com). When viewed simultaneously, the videos double as a short film filled with love, lust, betrayal and domestic violence awareness.

Since the release of “Music Is”, Joy has traveled with and performed for Variety Entertainment Promotion’s Funk Fest Concerts which features acts such as Charlie Wilson, Frankie Beverly, Kem, Earth, Wind & Fire, Babyface, Musiq Soulchild, Doug E. Fresh, Joe, Ledisi, SWV, Faith Evans and many more.

Joy’s music and live performances have been labeled as highly energetic and powerful soul, funk, jazz, neo-soul and even underground soul musical performances. And as she prepares for the release of her sophomore deluxe album entitled “The Listening Party”, she continues to establish herself as a true soul artist and business woman within the music industry worldwide.
