Round 6 Preview: Axemen vs Slayers

The Firehouse Subs Jacksonville Axemen are looking to continue their win streak as they take on the DC Slayers in Round 6 of the USARL competition. When the Axemen played the Slayers in DC for Round 4 it was a tough battle to come from behind for a 36-30 win, and the near loss has not been forgotten. “It’s going to be another tough game, “Says Axemen Coach and Captain Brent Shorten. “They showed how good a team they are when we met in DC. After a weekend off I expect us to be refreshed and ready to make a push into the playoffs.” The Axemen have been steadily improving in each round of the competition, and having the home field advantage should be a help, however, after a few very difficult games this season the boys are well aware that no win is going to be handed to them. Fans can look forward to another quality game of rugby league, similar to the last home game clash against the Philadelphia Fight. Game time is 5pm Saturday July 13 at the UNF Soccer Field next to Hodges Stadium.
