Jacksonville Axemen Rugby League

The Axemen Welcome New Import Player Hayden Diggins to Jacksonville

Diggins will round out the Australian import players for the Axemen and the team is excited to have him join them at training tonight to fill the hooker position.

He has 18 years of Rugby League experience, playing for the Junee Diesels in Group 9 ad Riverina Rep sides. Diggins captained his under 16 team, won the best and fairest (Eric Wiesel Medalist) for the under 18’s in 2011 and has played first grade in Junee since he was 17. Most recently he signed with the Wagga Brothers Club where he started the first 7 games of the season.

When an import player position became available with the Axemen Diggins took the opportunity to travel to the US to play Rugby League. “This is a chance to test myself in the States and see the quality of football in America,” says Diggins. “I’m looking forward to meeting all the people that make the Axemen such a great organization, especially the players and fans. I will be doing my best to make sure the Axemen take out the Championship.” The team will play their first regular season game on the road against the Atlanta Rhinos on June 11th.
