UNF Deadbirds Rugby Home Opener January 26
Are you in need of a rugby fix? You’re in luck as the The University of North Florida Deadbirds Rugby team will be kicking off their home opener this weekend against Miami. Last year the Deadbirds made an exciting climb to the NSCRO final four and finished the fall season ranked second in the state of Florida. The Firehouse Subs Jacksonville Axemen has a close affiliation with UNF Rugby, who is coached by Axemen players Richie Alleger and Max Schwartz. Over the years the Deadbirds have developed several key players for the Axemen, including UNF seniors Taylor Alley and Tim Herff. The game will be played Sat. January 26th at 2pm at the UNF Practice Soccer Field (between Hodges Stadium and the baseball field). Let’s Go Deadbirds!
