Axemen Finish First In the South Conference

The Jacksonville Axemen have finished 5-1 for the regular season, as did the Tampa Mayhem. Due to point differentials for the overall season the Axemen earn top spot. This means that Jacksonville will host the South Championship game against the Tampa Mayhem on Saturday, July 26th.

This is sure to be an epic battle between two solid teams who were able to defeat each other on their home turf but suffered losses with travel. “We are excited to be in this game, last week’s win was huge for us.” Said Drew Slover, Co-Founder and General Manager of the Axemen. “I think this Saturday will be the best game of rugby league we’ve seen all season. Both teams have been hard at work preparing and it’s do or die now.” The winner of this weekend’s game will go on to host the winner of the Rugby League United (North Conference) Championship between the Brooklyn Kings and the DC Cavalry.

The action kicks off Saturday, July 26th at 7pm at the University of North Florida. Full concessions and beer sales are available. Tickets start at just $10 and kids 12 and under get in free.
